THE EVOLUTION OF ASTROLOGY AND MORE MUSINGS FROM MARIA FRANCESCA

My astrological guides have shared some very interesting downloads of late.  As many of you know I have been doing this work for going on at least 35 years as a professional.

However, I remember as a young woman who was turned on to astrology by my Mom's housekeeper.  I was fascinated by what she knew about me without knowing me.  All of

her insights were based on my sharing my birthdate with her.  Whoa!  I wanted to know more and more and more.  However, this was when astrology was still "in the closet".  

There was not much information to be had.  I remember having to take a bus to another part of town to a drugstore that had a small magazine called "American Astrology". 

 A few articles on the different signs and some interpretations I was too much of a novice to understand and yet, I was able to glean enough to keep searching.  As the years went 

on and I was fortunate enough to come to California in the late 60's where the spirituality boom was happening; I thought I died and was in astrology heaven.

Bug and spend most of my day off there.  It was a time when the store owners would let you mingle among the many books and tarot cards calling for me.

I couldn't get enough.  It was all so enticing and inviting and affirming.  This is when I decided I wanted to be an astrologer.  I mean the real thing. This is when I started my

journey.  It was time to find a way to be certified.  At the time, now, I am dating myself, there were no computer programs able to download an entire chart wheel in a matter 

of a few seconds.  I had to start with the longitude and latitude and country and city and date and time of a birth to create a chart wheel.  Did I ever think it was too much?  

Nope!  I wanted this and I worked for it.  Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Astrology classes before I was properly certified.  

Now here we are.  We have advanced to a time where you can put birth info into a computer and it will dump out an assessment of someone's personality based on a computerized

system which has evaluated different parts of a person.  Am I critical of the new way?  Not really. However, I believe as with all advancement, there comes challenges.  We are complex beings.  

Our sacred birth chart wheel has 12 separate sections we astrologers call houses.  Each area houses a different aspect of our lives.  In order to be able to support the whole person, 

we must be able to enter each of the houses and see who lives there.  This takes time and energy and an understanding of the inhabitants of that house and what kind of energy

 lives there.  Once this is complete, there are 11 more houses to enter and exit and take notes.  Like an archeologist on a dig.  Searching, searching, searching until we find the 

treasure of who this person is.  Only then can an astrologer support and guide and at the end share how a person can live a life where peace and harmony and the ability to 

support loved ones and community exists. 

With the onset of social media and the popularity of astrological sound bites; we must be careful what we share and how we share what is occurring astrologically on a daily, weekly,

monthly or even yearly basis.  New moons and full moons.  Daily, weekly and monthly cycles.  Overviews and in depth information. There is much to understand and it is all very 

exciting no matter the challenges.  I believe Spirit, the All That Is, God, whatever your go to is; has provided us with so much to live a good life.  The planets and signs and their

Influence is all part of the cosmic gifts we have access to.  How cool is this!

I am reminded of a song.  As of late, music has become my muse.  Jimmy Cliff .... "I Can See Clearly Now".

And on that note, today, Thursday, September 10, there is a New Moon in the sign of Virgo (the organizer).  There are other planets moving to new signs today as well.  

Mercury moving to Libra (the harmonizer) and Venus moving to Scorpio (the transformer) and Uranus in Gemini (the communicator).  All on the same day.  

How to take advantage of this configuration of planetary influence, I recommend:

1.  Change your thinking, change your life.  Good time to reorganize your thoughts before they become words. Words are thoughts waiting to be expressed. Virgo and Gemini influence

2.  Once you have thought through what you want to communicate, do it with harmony. Libra influence

3.  Pay attention to how you feel after you have done the above.  A transformation can occur.  Scorpio influence

The saying "when much is given, one must be more responsible" is truly true.
